Last year in August, I went for the Kashmir Great Lakes trek. For anyone who knows a little about trekking would know that it is one of the most beautiful trek in India.
But not for everyone.
You may find it hard to believe that a few people in a group of 20 were busy comparing it to some other treks they did in the past and weren’t charmed by the meadows and alpine lakes.
For them,
“The days were longer.”
“The landscape wasn’t changing much unlike their last one.”
“The food was better on that Uttarakhand trek.”
The meadows and alpine lakes of Kashmir couldn’t make them happy.
What killed the buzz?
Comparison.
Try doing this to any place, person or an experience and you will always be disappointed. On the other hand, if you accept and enjoy the moment as is, small experiences will also bring a lot of joy.
